Course Information

Class Size and Schedule

Student are enrolled on an individual schedule. There will be no more than 15 students per instructor. Students are not required to take all the classes in the program. The student should be selective and take those classes which meet their educational needs. Class schedules are set by the School's Director.

Additional Requirements for Class Attendance

All Classes: Prerequisite; High school diploma or GED and physical and mental ability to do the class work.

Basic II SMAW: Prerequisite; Basic I or two (2) years of shop experience in SMAW 3G & 2G.

SMAW Advanced: Basic II or 3 years of shop experience with SMAW all positions.

Academic Offering: Diploma Program "Welding Technology" 624 Clock Hours.

Each student must obtain their own personal protective clothing.
Requirements: Long sleeve work shirts with a collar, in a non-synthetic material (such as cotton). Long pants. No Baggy or Frayed Clothes! High top steel toed leather boots.
Required Equipment: Safety Glasses, Welding Helmet shade 10/11, Leather cape sleeve and bib, Welding gloves, work gloves, cap, chipping hammer and wire brush.
